Where do I go for emergency dental care?

When you are experiencing a dental emergency, do not panic. Contact your dentist as soon as possible.

You should be able to be booked in for immediate or prioritised treatment. If you are unable to get in contact with your regular dentist, contact your nearest dentist, nearest clinic, or nearest hospital.

A dental emergency is an issue or injury that requires immediate dental treatment. Issues that are considered dental emergencies are:

  • A knocked-out tooth
  • A broken or fractured tooth
  • A severe toothache
  • Severe abscess, tissue trauma, or severe bleeding

Issues that are not considered emergencies:

  • Common toothaches
  • A chipped or broken tooth that is not causing pain
  • Common ulcers or mild bleeding
