Dental care and aesthetic transformation
A bridge is a dental restoration for missing teeth; it is a permanent restoration
The smallest bridge is the one made for a single tooth and covers two of the existing teeth, in the front and on the back of the missing tooth. Depending on the number of the teeth missing and the teeth that can be used as a support, a larger bridge can be made.
A crown covers the whole visible area of the tooth which is affected and has lost its correct structure. With this method, the tooth becomes strong and stable.
What makes crowns unique is their material. In the past, crowns had metal edges which were easily visible and in many instances gave the impression of black gums. Nowadays, however, crowns are only made of ceramic material, thus, making the result so natural that others cannot tell that a dental restoration has taken place!
Ceramic crowns are absolutely compatible with the tissues of the mouth and they give a brilliant result, both functionally and aesthetically.
Note: All prosthetic restorations for our patients have written guarantees.
Dental implants are restorations made of titanium that have the shape of a tooth-root. They are the most contemporary way for replacing teeth and may be applied whether you have lost all or just one of your teeth.
The teeth that are made with implants are just like the natural ones, shiny and absolutely functional. Implants give people with dentures either a more stable denture or a non-removable restoration with the advantage of not drilling the adjacent teeth.
With the assistance of specialized Implantologists and the top materials, your health is the priority while giving the smile you deserve!
According to Dr. Anna-Maria Yiannikos dentistry is not just about the treatment your mouth, but how it is an important component of the overall well-being of our patients.
Root Canal treatment
If the pulp of the tooth is injured or infected and cannot be restored without medical intervention, then bacteria and their toxic derivatives can penetrate it and cause its ‘death’, which is called pulp necrosis. If you do not have a root canal treatment then there is a possibility of an abscess developing, with pus on the root apex, which causes excruciating pain. If left untreated then tooth extraction may be necessary.
With root canal treatment we remove the nerve from the inside of the tooth, clean and disinfect the root canals (the inside space where the nerve is expanded) using the dental laser and then seal these spaces up to the root apex.
It has to be noted that, root canal treatments may be avoided by visiting the clinic when discomfort in the teeth is felt, so that your dental cycle may be maintained in order for your teeth remain beautiful and healthy.
Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and Onlays are restorations made of ceramic material and are used in cases where a lot of tooth structure is missing and cannot be restored with synthetic resin (white filling) because of a large cavity.
They are made by the dental technicians, and they give excellent aesthetic results while the materials used are long-lasting.
Inlays and Onlays are absolutely bio-compatible and it is important to note that further dental structure is not removed during tooth preparation. This way the beauty of your teeth becomes compatible with your health!
Dental plaque is a sticky yellowish-white film composed of bacteria as well as their by-products. Bacteria from the dental plaque produce toxins that harm the gums and create inflammation. This condition is named gingivitis with red bleeding gums being one of the symptoms. If left untreated it evolves in periodontitis, a disease of the periodontal tissues, meaning that the tissues around the tooth-gums, bone, and ligaments show erosion and progressive tooth loss.
The care cycle from our dental center includes a thorough cleaning of the dental plaque from the root and the use of a dental laser, a necessary tool that assists in eliminating bacteria and their by-products called toxins. By using this method of treatment we contribute to the regeneration of the gums and we may drastically stop the disease of periodontitis, revitalizing your smile.
Let’s not forget that our mouth is not a separate part of the body, but an integral part of the whole human system – Dr. Anna-Maria Yiannikos.
Contemporary dentistry has the ability to give you a white, natural smile. There are two ways used in our clinic with which this result may be achieved.
1. In-office bleaching
With a one hour comfortable visit in our center, you may obtain a healthy white smile that will boost your self-confidence
2. Bleaching at home
A gel is placed for a few nights in special trays around the teeth, during sleep. Usually, a week is enough to achieve that desirable outcome.
The procedure of bleaching may give you a magnificent smile with absolute security. Dr. Yiannikos will decide which is the most appropriate method for each one of our patients as well as the frequency of the treatment. Furthermore, Dr. Yiannikos will instruct you on how to maintain the shine and health of your teeth for longer.
A gummy smile is a situation where the patient smiles and at the same time lot of gum is shown. Dr. Yiannikos has evaluated this condition and a possible option that may be considered is the dental laser. The whole process is simple and fast during which excess gum is removed and the smile is restored.
The advantage of the dental laser in this process is that there is no bleeding and anesthesia may often be avoided.
We redesign the gums in minimum time and with a fast healing process, a new shiny and healthy smile is regenerated.
According to Dr. Anna-Maria Yiannikos, we as dentists, are the ‘artists’ of the mouth and that is because we are interested in the harmony of the therapeutic result.
White teeth fillings
With the use of dental laser your tooth can be cleaned easily and fast, so that we may proceed to the biological tooth filling. Nowadays there are teeth fillings that perfectly imitate not only the outside layer of the tooth (enamel) but also the deeper one (dentin) and they give you the best results aesthetically as well as absolute functionality.
The materials we use are the safest, of superior quality and long-lasting. If you take care of your teeth with regular brushing, dental-floss and frequent visits to our center then you will maintain the health of your teeth and remain gorgeous for many years.
A dental denture is a removable restoration for missing teeth and adjacent supportive tissues. It is made of acrylic resin, sometimes in combination with various materials. A complete denture replaces all the teeth, while a partial one fills in spaces created by missing teeth (in cases some natural teeth are still present in the mouth).
Complete dentures are either conventional or immediate. Their difference lies in the time required for construction. The classic ones are placed in the mouth about a month or two after the extraction of the teeth, while the immediate ones are made before the extractions and are fitted in the mouth immediately.
In the latter case, the patient can present himself straight away, without feeling embarrassment, in contrary with the classic dentures. This results in the patient regaining health while enjoying social interactions with a smile!
One of the most exciting techniques is bonding with a thin layer of porcelain on the surface of the enamel. If your teeth are crooked, with a lot of fillings or diastemas, even if you have a gummy smile get ready for an astonishing metamorphosis. If you do not like your smile, if you avoid smiling in photographs and you put your hand in front of your mouth when smiling, then porcelain veneers are the solution for you.
With a few visits and a slight preparation of your teeth, change will occur.
Porcelain veneers give a beautiful result; a shiny smile full of health. In addition, the porcelain veneers do not stain, thus, remaining beautiful for many years.
